DAY ONE: Anchorage to Seward
Begin roadtrip adventure driving your RV, camper, or camper van south from Anchorage along the scenic Seward Highway, renowned for its breathtaking mountain and ocean views. Stop at Beluga Point for a short hike and possible wildlife sightings. Continue to the Chugach National Forest where you can enjoy easy trails like the Exit Glacier Overlook Trail. Camp overnight one of the local campgrounds or RV parks, offering stunning views of Resurrection Bay and convenient access to town.

DAY TWO: Seward Exploration and Kenai Fjords National Park
Take a morning wildlife and glacier cruise departing from Seward to experience tidewater glaciers and marine wildlife up close in Kenai Fjords National Park. In the afternoon, explore local hiking spots such as the Tonsina Point Trail or visit the Alaska SeaLife Center.

DAY THREE: Seward to Homer via Soldotna/Kenai
Drive west toward the Kenai/Soldotna area, stopping in Soldotna for the day. Swing by the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge for a short hike and excellent opportunities to spot moose, bears, and other wildlife or try some river fishing on the Kenai River, famous for its salmon runs. Grab lunch (and maybe dinner!) at a local restaurant or brewery, and then continue onward to Homer. Set up camp at one of Homer’s waterfront RV parks.

Stop and spend the day in Soldotna. Play a leisurely round of golf, take a bear, glacier, or volcano flightseeing trip, rent a canoe or kayak for a serene paddle on a public lake, take a refreshing hike or a casual stroll on a variety of local trails, rent a bike and cycle around town, catch a rodeo or little league game, or simply, be inspired by the many galleries, gift shops, museums, and local festivals in town. If it is Wednesday, be sure to stop by the Wednesday Market.

Spend the day exploring Homer and the surrounding areas. Take a sea kayaking trip in Kachemak Bay State Park or enjoy a short hike on the Homer Spit with panoramic views of mountains meeting the ocean. Visit local galleries and shops in town, then relax at your campground overlooking the bay.

Whether kayaking on beautiful Kachemak Bay, standing in Brooks Camp in Katmai National Park on your first bear viewing trip, or shopping on the Homer Spit, there are plenty of activities to fill your day in Homer.

Enjoy final scenic vistas of the Kenai Peninsula’s diverse landscapes before arriving back in Anchorage, completing your supremely scenic road trip.
