Moose Pass is a picturesque town situated on the shores of Upper Trail Lake 30 miles outside of Seward, surrounded by the incredible Chugach National Forest. Moose Pass has been telling tales since a moose stopped the mail carrier’s dog team in 1903. Visit the start of the Iditarod trail, which transported gold and supplies, and was blazed through the area in 1910. The abundance of moose in the area prompted its name.
Moose Pass is a frequented stop of the Alaska Railroad, buy a ticket or flag it down, but make sure you take a ride. The train provides you a chance to view scenery that is not accessible any other way. Come visit Moose Pass, the soul of the Kenai Range, the gateway to your Alaskan adventure!
